Ravi Naik, former Chief Minister of Goa and current Agriculture Minister, passed away on Wednesday, 15 October 2025, following a cardiac arrest at his hometown near Panaji. He was 79. Naik was taken to a private hospital in Ponda, where he was declared dead around 1 am. Thousands gathered at his residence in Khadpabandh, Ponda, to pay their respects to the veteran leader.

Naik was a prominent leader who served twice as Chief Minister of Goa. He was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) seven times, representing the Ponda and Marcaim constituencies. Goa CM Pramod Sawant and PM Narendra Modi paid tribute, remembering his service and leadership. He is survived by his wife, two children, a daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren. His last rites will be held at 3 pm.
