Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool on Thursday to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth around Rs 13,430 crore. He was received by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, and Deputy CM K. Pawan Kalyan at Kurnool airport. After visiting the Srisailam Temple and Sri Shivaji Spoorthi Kendra, the PM returned to Kurnool for a public address.

Modi Unleashes Growth Vision
According to a PMO statement, Modi laid the foundation for the Kurnool-III Pooling Station transmission project, valued at Rs 2,880 crore, featuring a 765 kV double-circuit line to boost power transformation capacity by 6,000 MVA and enable large-scale renewable energy transmission.
He also launched the Orvakal and Kopparthy Industrial Areas, worth Rs 4,920 crore, jointly developed by NICDIT and APIIC. These hubs, promoting plug-and-play and walk-to-work concepts, are expected to attract Rs 21,000 crore in investments and generate 100,000 jobs in Rayalaseema.
To strengthen infrastructure, he initiated the Rs 960 crore Sabbavaram–Sheelanagar Greenfield Highway and six additional road projects totalling Rs 1,140 crore. Rail projects exceeding Rs 1,200 crore, including the Kottavalasa-Vizianagaram Fourth Line, were also unveiled.
In the energy sector, he dedicated the Rs 1,730 crore Srikakulam-Angul Gas Pipeline and IOC’s Rs 200 crore LPG plant in Chittoor. Furthering defence manufacturing, he inaugurated BEL’s Rs 360 crore Night Vision Products Factory in Krishna district, reinforcing self-reliance and skilled employment.
