A shocking video from Trichy, Tamil Nadu, has gone viral, showing a group of men burning an effigy of Lord Ram. They were chanting slogans in praise of Ravana. The footage, shared via the social media handle of ‘Fifth Tamil Sangam’, sparked outrage and prompted swift police action.

In the clip, the men can be seen setting the Lord Ram effigy ablaze. A graphic of a ten-headed Ravana with a veena appeared in its place. The Cyber Crime Police acted fast, registering a case under sections 192, 196 (1)(a), 197, 299, 302, and 353 (2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Following investigations, 36-year-old Adaikalaraj was arrested on Thursday, while authorities continue to search for other participants.
Police have issued a strict warning, emphasising that creating or circulating such provocative posts will invite stringent legal action. This incident has left social media buzzing and authorities on high alert.
