In a significant development in Indian politics, C.P. Radhakrishnan has been named the 15th Vice-President of India. In this election, held through a secret ballot in Parliament, he secured 452 votes, which comfortably crossed the majority mark. Opposition candidate B. Sudarshan Reddy gave a tough fight but lost. However, he received one of the highest vote counts for any opponent in the history of Vice-Presidential elections.
Experienced Leader Takes Charge
Radhakrishnan, with decades of experience as an MP, state BJP chief, and Governor of multiple states, now takes on the crucial role of presiding over the Rajya Sabha.
