Rahul Gandhi has triggered a major political controversy with his remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an interaction at the Hertie School in Berlin. Addressing students and academics, the Congress leader claimed that PM Modi’s vision for India would ultimately fail, arguing that democratic institutions in the country are being systematically weakened.
Gandhi alleged that agencies such as the ED and CBI have been “weaponised” against political opponents and said India is witnessing a “wholesale capture” of its institutional framework. According to him, the opposition is not fighting the BJP as a party, but resisting what he described as an attack on democracy itself.
