Nitish Kumar Sworn In as Bihar CM for 10th Time at Gandhi Maidan Ceremony

Janata Dal (United) chief Nitish Kumar (74 years old) scripted history once again, taking oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar for a record 10th time on November 20, 2025, at the iconic Gandhi Maidan in Patna. The grand ceremony turned into a powerful political showcase, with the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, senior Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Dharmendra Pradhan, and chief ministers from seven states, all witnessing his remarkable comeback.

Nitish Kumar Secures Victory

Just a day earlier, Kumar confidently staked a claim to form the next government after being unanimously chosen as the NDA’s legislative leader. The alliance delivered a sweeping victory in the Bihar Elections 2025, securing 202 out of 243 seats, reaffirming its strong hold over the state. The BJP emerged as the single-largest party with 89 seats, followed closely by the JD(U) with 85, while the LJP(RV), HAM(S), and RLM added crucial numbers.
