Director James Gunn has officially confirmed that the Superman sequel, titled Man of Tomorrow, will begin production in April 2026. The much-awaited film is set for a global release on July 09, 2027, under Warner Bros, and excitement is already building among DC fans. Speaking on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM radio show, Gunn revealed that it will dive into a gripping storyline where Superman and Lex Luthor are forced to team up against a larger threat. He described it as “as much a Lex movie as it is a Superman movie,” hinting at deeper character dynamics.

Gunn also praised Nicholas Hoult’s performance as Lex Luthor, calling his experience working with him “extraordinary.” Following the success of Gunn’s first Superman film, which grossed Rs 5,096.2 crore ($614 million) worldwide, Man of Tomorrow is positioned to expand the DC Universe, alongside upcoming projects such as Supergirl, Clayface, and the Lanterns series.
