A tragic incident has emerged from Bikaner district’s Lunkaransar area. Student Ajay Godara, from Arjansar village, died after allegedly being forcibly deployed to the Russia–Ukraine war zone. Ajay travelled to Russia on a student visa on November 28, 2024. However, he was reportedly lured with money and recruited into military-related work.

He was initially promised kitchen-related duties. Instead, he was sent to the Ukrainian border after just four days of training. Months before his death, Ajay sent video messages to his family expressing fear for his life. He stated that the reality was drastically different from what he had been told before leaving.
Despite repeated appeals to Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and Cabinet Minister Sumit Godara, no help came. The family received news of his death seven days ago. His body arrived in Delhi on Thursday for last rites.
Villagers and relatives are now demanding a high-level Central Government probe. They want an investigation into how a student visa holder was drawn into military operations and how similar tragedies can be prevented in the future.
