India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 Clash: Sports Ministry Issues New Policy

Asia Cup 2025

The Sports Ministry has confirmed India’s participation in the Asia Cup 2025, including the high-profile match against Pakistan on 14 September at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. While India will continue to avoid bilateral series with Pakistan, multilateral tournaments such as the Asia Cup are allowed. This decision ensures that Shuryakumar Yadav and the Indian team can compete as planned, following the Ministry’s updated policy on sporting engagements with Pakistan.

Ministry Allows Multilateral Tournaments

The ministry has stated that India will not be playing a bilateral cricket series in Pakistan, and Pakistan teams will not be permitted to tour India. At the same time, both sides will still take part in multilateral events like the Asia Cup as per international tournament guidelines. The announcement comes after weeks of speculation over India’s participation, intensified by security concerns following the Pahalgam incident. The Asian Cricket Council confirmed the Asia Cup schedule, ensuring that the India-Pakistan group stage clash goes ahead without affecting the tournament timetable.
