Leading India for the first time in Tests, a 25-year-old cricketer, Shubman Gill, answered questions about his captaincy in India vs England and new batting role. Taking over the No. 4 position after Virat Kohli’s retirement, Gill remained unbeaten on 127. Jaiswal scored 101 off 159 balls. The pair added 129 runs for the third wicket after India slipped to 92 for 2. Rishabh Pant remained unbeaten on 65 and ended the day alongside Gill, taking India to a strong finish in the series opener.
