Ind vs Eng Test: Mohammed Siraj Fined For Body Contact After Dismissing Ben Duckett

Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has been fined by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for a code of conduct breach during the third Test against England at Lord’s. The incident happened on Day 4, when Siraj celebrated aggressively after taking Ben Duckett’s wicket. The ICC stated that his celebration could have provoked the batter, which is against the rules.

ICC Issues Fine to Siraj

The ICC stated that Mohammed Siraj breached Article 2.5 of its Code, which relates to the use of gestures or actions that may provoke a batter after dismissal. The ICC fined him 15% of his match fee and added one demerit point to his disciplinary record for the aggressive send-off after dismissing Ben Duckett on Day 4 of the match. This is his second offence within 24 months, bringing his total to two demerit points. While it doesn’t affect his current availability, further violations could lead to suspension.
