In the opening match of the Afghanistan vs Hong Kong Asia Cup 2025, Afghanistan defeated Hong Kong by 94 runs. Afghanistan scored 188 for 6 in 20 overs. Sediqullah Atal scored 73 not out, while Azmatullah Omarzai hit a record-fast fifty off 21 balls. Rahmanullah Gurbaz gave a quick start but was dismissed early. Afghanistan’s bowlers maintained constant pressure on Hong Kong, not allowing them to settle during their innings.
