Suddenly, a beautiful peacock appeared and offered to guide them to water by dropping its feathers along the path so they could follow. The peacock knew this act could endanger its life, yet it pressed on. Finally, Rama and Sita arrived at a crystal-clear spring. When they reached, they found the noble bird lying lifeless, having sacrificed itself for their sake. Touched by this ultimate act of devotion, Rama vowed, “In my next life, I will honor your courage.” True to his promise, in his incarnation as Lord Krishna, he adorned his crown with a vibrant peacock feather, immortalizing the bird’s bravery and love forever.
