Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal has clarified how the company and its parent entity, Blinkit, achieve their famed 10-minute delivery promise. This comes amid rising concerns over the safety of food delivery workers following recent strikes across India. Goyal emphasised that fast deliveries rely on the density of stores located near customers. He made it clear that delivery partners are not pressured to speed. Drivers’ safety remains a top priority, and delivery partners do not have timers indicating expected delivery times.
The delivery process involves quick picking and packing of orders. Without compromising safety, this is followed by short-distance deliveries, ensuring efficiency. While the system can always improve, claims of exploitation are largely misunderstood or misrepresented by social media narratives, said Deepinder Goyal.
