Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old from Utah, has been named the suspect in the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. He was taken into custody on 12 September after his father recognised him in surveillance footage and encouraged him to surrender. Investigators say his arrest ended a nationwide search. Robinson had been studying at Dixie Technical College and had previously spent time at Utah State University before returning home. The motive remains under investigation.

Father’s Help Led to Arrest
Robinson’s father contacted a family friend, who then contacted law enforcement. Utah Governor Spencer Cox said Robinson had recently become more politically outspoken and had expressed dislike for Kirk before the attack. The FBI confirmed the case is still active.
