You know the Coldrif cough syrup that made headlines after children died in Madhya Pradesh? The World Health Organization (WHO) has now issued a warning about three toxic syrups in India. Tests found deadly levels of diethylene glycol, a dangerous chemical, in Coldrif and two other syrups. Authorities confirmed these medicines were not exported, but the tragic deaths have sparked nationwide concern.
WHO Flags Dangerous Cough Syrups
The syrups flagged are Coldrif from Sresan Pharmaceuticals, Respifresh TR from Rednex Pharmaceuticals, and ReLife from Shape Pharma. Sresan’s licence has been revoked, and children under five should avoid these syrups. Officials urge doctors and parents to be extremely cautious.
