On December 4, 2024, a tragic incident occurred at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre during the premiere of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’. A 35-year-old woman, Revathi, died, and her nine-year-old son, Sri Teja, was hospitalised due to asphyxiation during a stampede-like situation caused by a large crowd of fans hoping to see the actor. Following a complaint from the deceased’s family, a case was registered at Chikkadpally police station under Sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management. Sri Teja is currently recovering in the hospital.
