Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has named Sergio Gor as the new American Ambassador to India. Trump praised Gor as a ‘great friend’ and highlighted his contributions to political campaigns, book publishing, and the leadership of a major super PAC. Along with the role, Gor will also serve as the Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs.

Gor expressed his gratitude for the announcement and thanked President Trump for trusting him. He said that strengthening ties with India while serving the American people remains one of his proudest commitments. His nomination occurred seven months after Eric Garcetti resigned as US Ambassador.
