The Indian box office witnessed a thrilling festive clash on October 21, 2025, as Ayushmann Khurrana’s horror-comedy Thamma went head-to-head with Sonam Bajwa and Harshvardhan Rane’s romantic drama Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat. Both films were eagerly awaited, but it was Thamma that dominated the charts, raking in an impressive Rs 24 crore on its opening day.

Featuring Rashmika Mandanna, Paresh Rawal, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui alongside Ayushmann Khurrana, this entry in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe captivated audiences despite mixed critical reviews, currently holding an IMDb rating of 6.2.
On the other hand, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat opened with a respectable Rs 8.50 crore, recording a 39.51% Hindi occupancy on its first day.
Meanwhile, other films continued their steady runs. Kantara Chapter 1 maintained its third-week dominance, earning Rs 12 crore, bringing its total to Rs 547.15 crore.
