Tesla Sets Foot in India: First Showroom in Mumbai Unveils Model Y

Tesla has officially entered the Indian market by opening its first showroom in Mumbai. The showroom covers an area of 4,000 square feet and will serve as a dedicated Tesla Experience Center, giving customers a closer look at the brand’s electric vehicles and technology.

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the showroom and expressed his happiness about Tesla choosing Maharashtra for its first store in India. He said the arrival of Tesla is a significant moment for the state and the country’s growing electric vehicle market.

Tesla’s First Showroom Opens in Mumbai

Tesla has launched its first showroom in India, located at Maker Maxity Mall in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex. The 4,000-square-foot showroom is reported to have a monthly rent of about Rs 35 lakh. Visitors can check out Tesla’s electric vehicles and learn more about the brand’s technology at the new center. This launch comes as Tesla looks to grow in new countries while sales slow down in some of its older markets.

Tesla’s Model Y

Tesla has put its Model Y electric SUV on display at the newly opened Mumbai showroom for the launch. Six updated units of the Model Y were brought in from Shanghai. The SUV will be offered in two variants: Long-Range Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and Long-Range All-Wheel Drive (AWD). It includes a 15.4-inch touchscreen, wireless charging, USB-C ports, and voice controls. The SUV’s starting price in India is Rs 59.89 lakh.
