Lord Ram’s 51-foot Tallest Statue Unveiled in North America

Lord Ram

On 3 August 2025, the Hindu community in Canada marked a historic moment as the Hindu Heritage Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, revealed the tallest statue of Lord Ram in North America. The statue stands 51-foot tall. It was crafted in Delhi and assembled in Canada by skilled artisans. The structure rests on a 7-foot pedestal and will soon be topped with a ceremonial umbrella (chhatri). Together, these elements make it a striking visual and spiritual landmark for Hindus and spiritual seekers alike.

The inauguration ceremony drew thousands of attendees, among them Canadian politicians and prominent figures from the Indo-Canadian community. Positioned close to the flight path of Toronto Pearson Airport, the statue now stands as a welcoming sight for air travellers. It embodies the essence of faith and the rich cultural heritage of the Hindu community.

Lord Ram’s Statue Bridges Cultures in Canada

Built from fibreglass and steel, the statue is engineered to withstand wind speeds up to 200 km/h and is designed to last for over a century. Its construction is inspired by the architecture of Ayodhya’s Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. This statue is not just a symbol of faith, but it also reinforces a spiritual connection between Indian heritage and global identity. Organisers claim the statue a “spiritual gift” and a powerful emblem of Sanatan Dharma. It serves as a tribute to Lord Ram’s legacy while also embodying the unity, devotion, and cultural resilience of Hindus across the globe.

With this installation, Mississauga has become a symbolic extension of Ayodhya for Indo-Canadians, reflecting India’s growing cultural footprint across the world. The statue stands as a beacon of faith, resilience, and heritage, bridging continents through shared traditions and spiritual reverence.
