US President Donald Trump has appointed Sergio Gor as the next US Ambassador to India. Gor will also serve as the Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs.
President Trump has raised tariffs on Indian imports from 25% to 50%, citing unfair trade practices and continued oil ties with Russia. India has strongly opposed the move.
