Indian Cricketer Shubman Gill is all set to captain the team in Test Cricket. The 25-year-old made his Test debut for India just five years ago. He will be leading the team for the upcoming five-match series in England, beginning on June 20, 2025. Shubman Gill was officially appointed as Rohit Sharma’s successor following a meeting of the selection committee at the BCCI headquarters in Wankhede Stadium. He becomes India’s 37th Test captain. Rishabh Pant has been named vice-captain for the England tour.

Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from Test cricket last month. A few weeks later, former captain Virat Kohli also stepped away from the red-ball format. However, both players have opted to continue competing in the 50-over format.
