Shilpa Shetty Barred from Travelling Abroad by Bombay High Court, Says ‘Pay Rs 60 crore..’

Shilpa Shetty

The Bombay High Court has denied actor Shilpa Shetty permission to travel to Colombo for a YouTube event, stating that she must first pay Rs 60 crore in pending fraud charges. The court also noted that a Lookout Circular (LOC) issued by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) against Shetty and her husband, Raj Kundra, remains in effect. This prevents them from travelling abroad without permission from the court or the investigating agency.

Shetty’s lawyer sought approval for the event scheduled from 25 to 29 October, but the court rejected the plea, noting that a formal invitation had not yet been received.

Shilpa Shetty’s Travel Restricted

Last week, the court also refused permission for the couple to travel to Phuket, Thailand, for a family holiday. The case involves allegations by businessman Deepak Kothari, who claims that Shetty and Kundra misused his Rs 60 crore investment in their now-defunct company, Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd, for personal expenses. The next hearing is scheduled for 14 October, and the court has made it clear that travel will not be permitted until the matter is resolved.
