Former NCB officer Sameer Wankhede has sparked a fresh controversy involving Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan. This comes just days after Aryan’s directorial debut, The Bads of Bollywood, dropped on Netflix. The show quickly climbed the charts with 2.8 million views in its first week. It features cameos from Ranveer Singh, Emraan Hashmi, Ranbir Kapoor, and even Shah Rukh himself.
Sameer Wankhede Takes Action
Wankhede has filed a defamation suit in the Delhi High Court against Aryan, Shah Rukh, and Red Chillies Entertainment. His plea also names Netflix and seeks an injunction to stop streaming the series. He alleges that one of the characters in the show closely resembles him. The character, a stern officer in a white shirt, rants about a “war on drugs,” which he claims “mocks” and defames him.
The suit further points to an obscene gesture made after reciting “Satyamev Jayate.” Wankhede argues that such portrayals malign enforcement agencies and undermine public trust. He has demanded Rs 2 crore in damages, pledged for donation to the Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital.
