Actor Salman Khan has landed in legal trouble. A consumer court in Kota has issued a notice against him regarding allegedly misleading advertisements for a pan masala brand. The complaint was filed by senior BJP leader and Rajasthan High Court lawyer Inder Mohan Singh Honey. The complaint alleges that Salman Khan and the Rajshree pan masala brand promoted the products as containing “saffron-infused cardamom” and “saffron-infused pan masala,” which seems impossible given the high price of saffron.
Salman Khan Faces Notice
The petitioner highlighted that such advertisements can mislead consumers, especially youngsters, and encourage pan masala consumption — a known cause of mouth cancer. He also stressed that celebrities, being role models, should not promote harmful products. The Kota Consumer Court has issued notices to both the actor and the manufacturing company, seeking their formal response.
While the actor has appeared in ads for Rajshree Elaichi, he has not endorsed pan masala directly. The next hearing is scheduled for 27 November.
