Saif Ali Khan’s Rs 15,000 Crore Asset Declared As ‘Enemy Property’ by Court

Saif Ali Khan

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has lost his ancestral properties in Bhopal, worth around Rs 15,000 crore. The Madhya Pradesh High Court recently ruled that the properties are ‘Enemy Property’ and not his. The court canceled the 1999 ruling that had given property rights to his great-grandmother, Sajida Sultan. These royal properties are part of the Pataudi family’s legacy, but Saif can no longer claim them under the law.

What is ‘Enemy property’?

The Enemy Property Act empowers the Indian government to seize possessions abandoned by people who moved to Pakistan following Partition. In this case, because Sajida Sultan’s brother migrated to Pakistan, the Bhopal properties now fall under this law. This means, Saif Ali Khan and his family no longer have any legal rights over them.
