Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming epic ‘Ramayana’ has officially become India’s most expensive film, with a staggering budget of Rs 4,000 crore across two parts. In a podcast with Prakhar Gupta, producer Namit Malhotra revealed that the film is being self-financed, with no external investors involved. He shared that the total cost of production is around $500 million, surpassing all previous Indian film budgets by a huge margin.

Malhotra emphasised the vision behind the project, calling it a tribute to “the world’s greatest story,” and insisted the film still costs less than some Hollywood blockbusters. Compared to ‘RRR’ (Rs 500 crore) and ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ (Rs 600 crore), the film is operating on an unprecedented scale.
