Storyline

Following the success of the original ‘Raid’, the sequel keeps its core theme intact—a high-stakes tax raid on a corrupt politician’s empire. The story builds tension effectively, with several jaw-dropping moments as the search for hidden wealth unfolds.

Performances

Ajay Devgn carries the film with a grounded performance that blends intensity with occasional light-heartedness.

Riteish Deshmukh delivers a standout performance in a negative role, much like his previous portrayal in ‘Ek Villain’. His screen presence is strong, and he proves that he excels as a villain.

However, Vaani Kapoor’s role as Patnaik’s wife feels underutilised. While she appears in a few emotional and musical moments, her character lacks depth. It would have been more compelling to see her as a more active and supportive partner in the narrative.

One-time watch?

What sets Raid 2 apart is its attempt to mix seriousness with moments of humor, making the film more accessible to a wider audience. Though it may not be groundbreaking, it’s a well-paced thriller with strong performances and a few unexpected twists.
