On Monday, Delhi Police detained several senior leaders of the opposition INDIA bloc, including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Mallikarjun Kharge, Akhilesh Yadav, and others. The leaders were protesting near the Election Commission office in central Delhi. They accused the Election Commission of working with the ruling BJP. Police said the protests went beyond the approved limit of 30 people. As a result, many leaders and workers were taken into custody to maintain law and order.

Opposition Leaders Detained by Police
During the protests, opposition leaders and workers marched from Parliament to the Election Commission’s office. Police had allowed only 30 MPs to go, but over 200 people joined the march. Some leaders tried to cross police barricades, which led to chaos and police action. The leaders were detained and taken to nearby police stations. Rahul Gandhi said the protest was not political but was to save the constitution and protect the right to vote equally for all.
