Russian President Vladimir Putin has officially launched RT India, the Indian branch of Russia’s state-funded news network RT, in New Delhi. The new channel will air four English-language news programmes daily, focusing on India–Russia ties and major global stories. As Putin launches RT India, the move marks a significant step in strengthening media cooperation between the two countries. The project has also received full approval from the Indian government.
Putin Launches RT India
RT India has begun operations from a temporary studio in Film City, Noida. Over a hundred staff members are handling news production, reporting, and broadcasting. The channel will highlight India–Russia cooperation through its daily programmes. A new content-sharing agreement between PTI and the Russian agency TASS will enable both countries to exchange verified and reliable news more efficiently.

India–Russia Media Partnership Grows
The launch of RT India is one of the network’s largest international expansions. The Indian government approved the project under its existing agreement with Prasar Bharati. The channel will focus on explaining India–Russia relations, global developments, and the concept of a multipolar world. With its newsroom and digital plans, RT India aims to reach audiences across television and online platforms.
