Jaswinder Bhalla, the legendary Punjabi comedian and actor known for his unique humor and memorable roles, passed away at the age of 65 on Friday morning at Fortis Hospital in Mohali. His death due to health complications has left fans and the Punjabi film industry in deep shock.
About Jaswinder Bhalla
Bhalla was born on 4 May 1960 in Doraha, Ludhiana. He became a household name with films like ‘Carry On Jatta’, ‘Mel Karade Rabba’, and ‘Jatt and Juliet’. He began his acting career in 1988 with the comedy series ‘Chhankata’, where he played the iconic Chacha Chatra. Audiences instantly fell in love with his impeccable comic timing and relatable humour.
Beyond acting, Jaswinder Bhalla had a remarkable academic career. He joined Punjab Agricultural University as a lecturer in 1989 and retired as head of the department in 2020. His funeral will take place on 23 August at Balongi crematorium in Mohali, where fans and colleagues are expected to gather for a last glimpse.
