Actor and Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta has donated Rs 1 crore to the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) under the Indian Army’s South Western Command. Her contribution comes after Operation Sindoor, India’s military response to the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 that killed 26 tourists.
The Donation
Preity shared a video from the event on Instagram, where she addressed army families. She praised the bravery of soldiers and their loved ones. “This is a small offering from my side,” she said emotionally in her speech.
She also posted a heartfelt caption, calling her visit deeply moving. She spoke about the strength and sacrifice of the armed forces and their families. Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, targeted terror camps across Pakistan and PoK. Over 100 terrorists were killed. Pakistan responded with cross-border shelling and drone strikes, prompting further Indian retaliation across multiple airbases.
