Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accorded a ceremonial and spiritual welcome in Tokyo on Friday, as members of the Japanese community and the Indian diaspora greeted him with the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra and traditional cultural performances. At Haneda Airport, Japanese performers showcased folk music and dance, reflecting the strong cultural ties between India and Japan.
Focus on Strategic Ties
During his two-day trip, PM Modi is scheduled to hold talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba aimed at deepening the Special Strategic and Global Partnership. The focus of the discussions will be on trade, investment, and cooperation in areas including AI and semiconductors. After Japan, PM Modi will travel to Tianjin, China, to take part in the SCO Summit.
