The India-Pakistan handshake row has taken centre stage after the Asia Cup 2025 clash in Dubai. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has filed a complaint with the Asian Cricket Council, calling India’s decision “unsporting” and saying it went against the spirit of the game. India sealed a commanding 7-wicket win, but it was the post-match scenes that grabbed headlines. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav and his teammates walked off the field without the customary handshake with Pakistan players.

Explaining the decision, Suryakumar clarified that the move was a team call to stand in solidarity with the families of victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and to honour the Indian armed forces involved in Operation Sindoor. He said, “Some things are beyond sportsmanship. We dedicate this victory to our armed forces.” With India and Pakistan likely to face off again in the tournament, the controversy has added more fire to the already intense rivalry.
Well done, Team India! After thrashing Pakistan, the Indian team didn’t even come out to shake hands with the losing side, as is customary.
