Operation Aaghat 3.0 by Delhi Police: 285 Arrested, 21 Firearms and More

Delhi Police’s South-East District carried out Operation Aaghat 3.0 on December 26, 2025, leading to a major crackdown on crime across the district. As part of the special drive, police arrested 285 individuals under the Excise Act, NDPS Act, and Gambling Act. In addition, 504 people were detained as a preventive measure, while 116 known ‘bad characters’ were taken into custody.

Operation Aaghat 3.0: Major Recoveries

The operation resulted in significant recoveries. Police seized 21 country-made pistols, 20 live cartridges, and 27 knives. A large haul of contraband was also recovered, including 12,258 quarters of illicit liquor, 6.01 kg of ganja, and Rs 2,30,990 in cash from gambling activities.

Officers also recovered 310 mobile phones, 231 two-wheelers, and one four-wheeler during the drive. Overall, 1,306 individuals were stopped and questioned as part of preventive measures.

In a related incident in Narela, two wanted criminals—Afzal alias Imran and Chandan alias Kaku—were injured and arrested after a brief exchange of fire with police near NIT, Narela. Police recovered two pistols, five empty cartridges, a motorcycle, and mobile phones from the spot. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
