Days after a devastating fire at a popular nightclub in North Goa claimed 25 lives, the district administration has taken strict preventive action to avoid further tragedies. On December 10, 2025, evening, authorities issued an order banning the use of fireworks, sparklers, and all forms of pyrotechnics inside nightclubs, hotels, resorts, beach venues, and other tourist establishments across North Goa.

This decision follows the tragic incident that occurred around midnight on December 6 at a nightclub in Arpora, where a sudden blaze led to a massive loss of life and raised serious concerns about safety measures in tourist hotspots.

Officials stated that the ban is a precautionary step aimed at protecting visitors and ensuring that no activity involving fire risks is allowed in enclosed or crowded entertainment spaces. The administration has also instructed establishments to strictly comply with safety norms as Goa enters its peak tourist season.
