Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has once again triggered a major political controversy, barely a month after taking oath for a record 10th term. At a government event in Patna on December 16, 2025, he was seen pulling down the hijab of a woman doctor while handing her an appointment certificate.
The incident, captured on video and widely shared on social media, shows the 74 year old JD(U) leader first gesturing for the AYUSH doctor to remove her hijab and then pulling it down himself before she could react. The act exposed her mouth and chin, as some people in the background laughed and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary appeared to intervene and stop him.
