The National Commission for Women (NCW) has sought speedy justice in the Greater Noida dowry murder case, after media reports revealed the brutal murder of 26-year-old Nikki Bhati, who was allegedly set on fire by her husband and in-laws over dowry demands.
NCW Demands Quick Justice
In a statement, NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar said she has written to the Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police, urging the immediate arrest of all accused, strict action under relevant laws, and a fair, time-bound investigation. She also demanded protection for the victim’s family members and witnesses. The DGP has been instructed to submit a detailed action report within three days.
This move highlights the NCW’s commitment to addressing dowry harassment cases in India, also ensuring accountability in cases like the Greater Noida dowry case.
