‘Sardaar Ji 3’ Row: Naseeruddin Shah Supports Diljit Dosanjh, Blames Filmmaker for Casting Hania Aamir

Actor Naseeruddin Shah has publicly supported Diljit Dosanjh amid criticism over the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in the film ‘Sardaar Ji 3.’ The criticism was sparked by growing tension between India and Pakistan. In a Facebook post, Shah said Diljit was not involved in casting and blamed the film’s director. He said Diljit is being unfairly targeted and accused political groups of using the issue to attack him. Responding to online trolls, Shah said, ‘Go to Kailasa,’ and added that personal relationships between people across borders should not be questioned.

Naseeruddin Shah stated that Diljit Dosanjh is facing criticism for a decision he didn’t make. ‘The casting was the director’s decision, not the actor’s,’ he wrote, adding that Diljit agreed to the film because ‘his mind is not poisoned’.

Naseeruddin Shah also criticized political groups, calling the backlash a deliberate attempt to discredit the actor. Emphasizing his cross-border ties, Shah said he has relatives and friends in Pakistan and will continue to connect with them. To those telling him to ‘ go to Pakistan,’ he replied, ‘ Go to Kailasa.’ Meanwhile, director Imtiaz Ali also defended Diljit, calling his patriotism sincere and unquestionable.
