Nagpur Violence: CM Devendra Fadnavis Blames Film ‘Chhaava’?

Cheif Minister of Maharastra, Devendra Fadnavis, on Tuesday blamed the historical-drama movie ‘Chhaava’ for the ongoing violence in Nagpur. The CM said that the Vicky Kaushal starrer movie was the reason for people’s anger against Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.

As per ANI, CM Devendra Fadnavis while speaking about the violence that happened in Nagpur said, “Chhaava movie has ignited people’s anger against Aurangzeb. Still, everyone must keep Maharashtra peaceful.”

Why Did The Violence Happen?

​The recent violence in Nagpur was triggered after members of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) demanded the removal of Aurangzeb’s tomb, burning his effigy and the tomb during their demonstration. During this protest, it was rumoured that a holy book had been burned after which the Muslim community protested outside the police station which led to a clash with law enforcement.
