A video of Pak MP Nabil Gabol has gone viral, in which he candidly admits he lacks the funds to take action against the Ranveer Singh–Akshay Khanna film Dhurandhar. The movie, which hit theatres on December 5, depicts real-life geopolitical events, including Operation Lyari, the 2008 Mumbai attacks, and Karachi crime crackdowns.
Nabil Gabol Slams Film Portrayal
Gabol, whose character is renamed Jamil Jamali in the film and played by Rakesh Bedi, criticised the portrayal, calling it inaccurate and objecting to Lyari being highlighted as a ‘terrorist hub’. Dhurandhar is already banned in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Kuwait, but continues to circulate on pirated platforms, fuelling controversy.
