India defeated Pakistan to lift the Asia Cup 2025 trophy, but the post-match ceremony brought an unexpected twist. ACC Chairman and Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi came forward to hand over the trophy, but the Indian players did not step up to receive it, delaying the presentation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi later congratulated Team India, comparing the win to ‘Operation Sindoor’. Naqvi then replied on X, accusing India of dragging war into cricket and hurting the spirit of the game.

Mohsin Naqvi Replies to PM Modi
As Naqvi stood on stage holding the trophy, Indian players stayed away while fans chanted ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai.‘ Finally, Naqvi left the ground, while the Indian team celebrated their victory without it. Later, he reposted PM Modi’s message on X, claiming history recorded India’s defeats and calling India’s actions ‘desperation.’
