PM Modi Announces Free E-Visa for Russian Tourists in 30 Days During Joint Address With Putin

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a significant step to enhance India–Russia relations by confirming that India will soon introduce e-visas for Russian tourists. These will include both individual e-tourist visas and group tourist visas, processed within 30 days and offered free of cost.

The announcement came during a joint press briefing with Russian President Vladimir Putin after their bilateral meeting. This marks a major push to boost travel and cultural exchange between the two nations.

Both countries reaffirmed their shared stand against terrorism, citing recent attacks in India and Russia. President Putin expressed gratitude to President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Modi, and the people of India for their warm hospitality. He also emphasised the strong, ongoing strategic partnership between the two nations.

During the bilateral meeting, the two leaders signed the Vision 2030 document aimed at strengthening long-term economic cooperation. They noted that the India–Russia Business Forum will further support collaboration and open new business opportunities. This will also advance efforts towards a potential Free Trade Agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union.
