Met Gala 2025: No Onion-Garlic to No Smoking! Read Rules

Met Gala 2025

The Met Gala 2025, held at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, is renowned for its exclusive guest list and stringent etiquette. This year’s theme, “Tailored for You,” aligns with the Costume Institute’s exhibition, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” celebrating Black dandyism and bespoke fashion. The Met ball is one of the biggest nights of fashion, and attendees must adhere to several strict rules. Here are some rules of the Met Ball that you didn’t know.

Rules

  • No selfies or social media posts: Phones are banned inside to preserve exclusivity and encourage in-person interaction.

  • No garlic, onion, or parsley: These are deliberately excluded from the menu to avoid bad breath and photo mishaps.

  • No smoking inside: Smoking is strictly prohibited to protect the historic venue and artwork.

  • Tickets are not free: Despite being invite-only, guests must pay, with seats costing up to $75,000.

This year’s Met Gala is even more exciting as several Indian celebs are set to grace the red carpet. Shah Rukh Khan will be making his Met debut with Sabyasachi. Diljit Dosanjh, Kiara Advani and Priyanka Chopra will also be attending the event.
