The most glamorous night of the year, the MET Gala, just took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. We are still in awe of the stunning looks that all the celebrities wore on the carpet. For the MET Gala 2025, the stairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Art were transformed into a beautiful setting. Every year, the colour of the carpet is changed to match the gala’s theme. This year’s MET Gala carpet had a backdrop of deep blue and golden daffodils.
About the Blue Carpet and Its Indian Connection

The 63,000-square-foot blue carpet was made by a Kerala-based design house, Neytt by Extraweave. This was their third consecutive year of supplying an eco-conscious, biodegradable carpet for the MET. They have been curating the carpet for the Met Gala since 2022.
This MET Gala carpet was woven from sisal fibres sourced straight from Madagascar. The blue carpet had strewn daffodils, cascading floral barricades, and installations that shimmered with water, mirroring the hanging blooms above.
