The first Monday of May is kept as the date for the MET Gala every year. This year, however, the gala will be hosted on May 5 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art itself. MET Gala 2025 Theme
Every year, a theme is selected for the iconic MET Gala and this year’s theme is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” It is inspired by the 2009 book “Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity,” by Monica L. Miller. The theme will focus on the evolution of tailoring and style to “the formation of Black identities.” Moreover, this is the second time the MET’s theme will focus on menswear, the first was in 2003, “Men in Skirts”.
Invited Indian celebrities
Many Indians are excited to see which celebrities will get to walk the MET this year. The King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, will make his debut this year. It is rumoured that he’ll wear the renowned Indian designer Sabyasachi’s creation at the MET.
Bollywood actress Kiara Advani, the mom-to-be, is also set to make her debut at the MET Gala this year. Actress Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra are said to walk the MET Gala again this year, and fans can’t wait to see them!
