Malaika Arora Gets Second Warrant Over 2012 Saif Ali Khan Case

A Mumbai court has re-issued a bailable warrant against actor Malaika Arora after she failed to appear as a witness in a 2012 assault case involving actor Saif Ali Khan. The alleged incident took place at a five-star hotel on February 22, 2012, where Arora was part of the group dining with Khan that night. Others present included Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, and Amrita Arora. The court first issued a warrant on February 15. It was re-issued after Arora again skipped the hearing.

Chief Judicial Magistrate K S Zanwar is recording witness statements and the next hearing is set for April 29. Saif Ali Khan and his friends Shakeel Ladak and Bilal Amrohi were arrested after a complaint by NRI businessman Iqbal Mir Sharma. They were later released on bail. Sharma alleged Saif fractured his nose during a fight. Saif claimed Sharma provoked him and used abusive language toward the women.

The incident

On February 22, 2012, Saif Ali Khan got into a physical argument at the Wasabi restaurant in Mumbai’s Taj Hotel. The incident featured South African businessman Iqbal Mir Sharma and his father-in-law Raman Patel, which resulted in assault charges against Khan and his associates Shakeel Ladak and Bilal Amrohi.

Sharma reportedly complained about Khan’s group’s noisy talk, which included actors Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Malaika Arora, and Amrita Arora. Sharma allegedly approached the gathering and asked them to shut down. According to Sharma, Saif threatened him before punching him in the nose, shattering it. He also claimed Khan’s pals had assaulted his father-in-law.
