Meanwhile, legal troubles continue for Mallya. The Bombay High Court recently asked when he plans to return to India, refusing to hear his plea against the Fugitive Economic Offenders Act unless he submits to its jurisdiction. Mallya, declared a fugitive economic offender in 2019, has been in the UK since 2016, while Modi left India in 2010 amid serious financial allegations.
