Comedian Kunal Kamra is under fire yet again as he made a joke about Deputy CM of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde. The comedian, during his recent show called Shinde a ‘traitor’ but didn’t explicitly name him.
Kunal Kamra Jokes About Eknath Shinde
Kunal Kamra took a swipe at Maharashtra’s politics, specifically the breakaway factions of Shiv Sena and NCP. He mocked the confusion caused by the fragmented elections, saying, “What he did in Maharashtra’s election… First, Shiv Sena broke away from BJP, then Shiv Sena broke away from Shiv Sena itself… NCP broke away from NCP… they gave nine buttons to a voter… and everyone got confused.” Kamra hinted at a key figure behind these splits, referring to him as a “gaddar” (traitor).

Supporters of Eknath Shinde trashed the venue where the event took place. The venue where Kunal’s show took place later shared on social media that they had decided to shut down. Shiv Sena MLAs have also lodged an FIR against the comedian.
